Following D9 from a distance? You can help!

If you are one of our many fans in a faraway place, you can help D9 right now, from the comfort of your own -- and all it will cost you is a couple minutes of your time!

We have been amazed by our recent success with out of state placements, and after talking with other rescues in New Orleans, we would really like to develop more (and better) methods of getting dogs adopted in other areas. Adoptions in New Orleans have always been slow, and now the oil spill is making placements more difficult than ever. Animals are being surrendered to shelters in record numbers. So getting these poor dogs out of Louisiana might, in many cases, be the best option.

But we need a plan -- that's where you come in! All you have to do to help is fill out the survey below about dog ownership in your hometown. Just skip any questions you don't know the answers to, tell us as much or as little as you like, and just like that, you can help us plan our rescue strategy.

It would really help us out a lot if a lot of folks participated from various areas, so please share with friends -- and as always, thanks for supporting Dogs of the 9th Ward!

To participate, just click on this link. Thanks!
