D9 has been extremely lucky in receiving many generous donations over the past few months. With that money, I'm proud to say that we have rescued 5 dogs from the streets of the 9th Ward! Most 9th Ward dogs come to us with a lot of health issues (malnutrition, mange, parasites, heart worms, etc), and treating these conditions, plus spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and microchipping the dogs, is costly. I am proud of the progress we've made, and also truly touched by the donations we've been lucky enough to receive.
I have to beg for help again, unfortunately. Our two new boys, Scout and Basil, are heart worm positive, and although our vet is giving us a good rate on their treatment, it will still be expensive, and will completely wipe out our funds. In addition, Basil needs to have his hips X-rayed to look for possible dysplasia, and we need to purchase 2 large crates so that the boys can be kept quiet during treatment while their foster mom is out. All this is going to really add up! Donations in any amount -- nothing to small! -- are greatly appreciated.
Since we are not yet a 501(c)(3), we prefer cash donations be made directly to our vet, Prytania Veterinary Hospital, at 504.899.2828, or 4907 Prytania, New Orleans, LA 70118. Donations of supplies or gift certificates (towards buying a crate at PetCo/PetSmart, etc) can be made directly to me. Thank you so much for your generosity! The dogs of the 9th Ward need you.
