meet 9th Ward dogs Scout and Basil!

Meet Scout and Basil! These two big, beautiful boys were found wandering on Poland Avenue in the upper 9th ward. Their rescuer took them in and looked for their owner -- only to discover that their owner was no longer able to care for them. Now their rescuer is generously fostering them and has recruited the assistance of Dogs of the 9th Ward to find these sweet boys a new home.

Basil, who appears to be a Rottie mix (pictured on top), is very sweet and seems to be good with people and dogs. He just wants to follow you around and be pet. Although he is older (likely around 9-10), he is still playful and likes to scrap it up with other dogs.

Scout, a German Shepherd, appears to be a bit younger than Basil and is a little shy, but once he warms up, he's as sweet as can be! He is still active and needs exercise.

Both of these boys love to be around people, and they're searching for a caring home with time to rehabilitate them and let them live out their senior years in the style and comfort they deserve! Basil and Scout are very bonded, and hope to find a new home together. Up to this point, they've been outside dogs, but are getting used to the good life indoors, and their caring foster mom is working with them on housetraining and building up their confidence. Both Basil and Scout will go home neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Basil and Scout's adopter must have an application, vet reference, home check, and adoption donation of $50. If you think your family might be able to give these boys they life they deserve, please contact me at kellygaus@gmail.com
