Everyone, remember to mark your calendars. Dogs of the 9th Ward will be holding our first "Meet the 9th Ward Dogs" day at Cabrini Park this Saturday, August 8th, from 2pm-6pm. Our four wonderful 9th Ward dogs will be there. This will be a rain or shine event -- in the event of rain, we'll be huddled under the pavillion, but we'll still be there! This is a great opportunity to meet the dogs we have: you can easily meet all of them at once, AND you can bring all your family members to the meeting!*
Our four dogs range from 6 months to 4 years, from medium to large in adult size, from high-energy to low-energy.... you may well find your best friend! Applications will be available, but dogs won't go home until vet references are checked and a home check is completed. Please come and meet our three boys and one girl:
AMBER: 6-month-old fawn pit bull, very sweet and playful, being treated for demodex mange; currently 27 pounds; found stray.
BART: 6-month-old beagle/lab mix, fun-loving and affectionate, being treated for demodex mange; currently 28 pounds; born on the streets.
BASIL: 4-year-old black and tan hound, super loving and very laid back; about 70 pounds; abandoned by previous owner.
SCOUT: 2-year-old gorgeous German Shepherd, very gentle and sweet; about 70 pounds; abandoned by previous owner.
All of these amazing dogs adore people and are friendly with other dogs. It's incredible that such great and beautiful dogs don't have homes to call their own! Please stop by and meet them. Tell your friends!
*NOTE: Cabrini Park is used as an off-leash dog park, so please use caution in bringing children, as D9 is not in control of other dogs that happen to be at the park during the event. Dog- and people-friendly dogs are welcome, but if you think your canine family members are "iffy" with other dogs, please set up a private meeting for them.
